When at appointment for vaccine I was not asked any questions relating to health

They noted I had not signed the form

I said I had a concern because I was on blood thinners

I was basically told I would be fine

I said I had concerns regarding the combination of vaccine and medication

I was offered the chance to discuss this with my  GP and rebook

I took the first offer but did not rebook at this time

My concern is that the consent questions are not being asked or addressed with caution

Aged Care RN

I have just started working in aged care as a part time RN. I already declined the jab but has recently read a memo stating that those who opt not to have the jab would be asked to sign a waiver which includes requiring to use PPE and undergo regular PCR swab testing as per Aged Care NZ. I find this absurd as the supposed vaccine is not even guaranteed to stop one from getting the virus nor does it prevent transmission. am unsure how to navigate this as I have not met anyone yet from the workplace who have declined the jab. I am planning to not sign the waiver when the time comes but not sure what the repercussions would be to my job.

Loss of job if employees are not jabbed Napier NZ

This is a letter which was sent to an aged care worker in Napier.  I was introduced to this middle aged part Maori women by my reliable and concerned Facebook/ Messenger friend Ngaire Maxwell.   I talked with this women by video chat on 29 April.  She has worked for this company (Medcall) for 2.5 years.  She does not want to lose her job so feels pressured into having this injection when her good friends are telling her it is dangerous.

Flu vaccination update

The issue of vaccinations has received a lot of publicity recently as a result of the recent pandemic. Many of our clients have started to indicate to us that in future Medcall staff who are not vaccinated against the flu will not be able to work with and for them. Not being vaccinated could therefore affect the work we are able to provide for you in the future.

Apart from this fact, I strongly believe that the benefits of immunisation cannot be overstated both for keeping yourself safe from disease, and also your family and communities (please see attached fact sheet for more information). As an employer we wish to keep you and your clients safe in a disease free environment and being immunised can help us all achieve that.

As such Medcall is encouraging all its staff to get immunised this 2021 year and is hosting free vaccination clinics in our offices at the following locations once the flu vaccine becomes available:

How serious is influenza?

Influenza can vary from having no symptoms at all, to being extremely severe, even for fit and healthy people. Influenza is a potentially fatal disease, estimated to cause more deaths each year than accidents on NZ roads.
On average up to 401 deaths are estimated to be caused directly or indirectly by influenza virus each year in New Zealand. This estimated death rate is 17 times higher than recorded influenza deaths. Many others can have mild or even asymptomatic flu but can still spread it. The Southern Hemisphere Influenza and Vaccine Effectiveness Research and Surveillance (SHIVERS) serosurvey results show that in the 2015 winter season more than one quarter (26%) of New Zealanders were infected with flu with four out of five of these being asymptomatic (not showing symptoms). These asymptomatic carriers can spread the virus among their family, co-workers and classmates without ever realising it. Children are much more likely to contract influenza in any given season: 20–50% compared with 10–30% in adults. Applying SHIVERS serosurvey data to the New Zealand total population would suggest that in 2015 around: 31,850 people sought help at their general practice and 2,209 were hospitalised.

How contagious is influenza?

Studies have shown that influenza can survive for:

  • An hour or more in the air in enclosed environments.
  • More than eight hours on hard surfaces such as stainless steel and plastic.
  • Up to 15 minutes if transferred from tissues to hands.
  • Up to five minutes after transfer from the environmental surfaces.

    Does influenza vaccine work?

    Like all vaccines, influenza vaccine is not 100% effective in everyone, but in most people it does prevent influenza, or the person has a less severe illness. Generally, flu vaccines are considered to have ‘moderate effectiveness’. Effectiveness rates depend on several factors, including the age and immune status of the recipient, as well as the match between circulating vaccine strains and the vaccine. The findings of a rigorous analysis of 44 years’ worth of studies published online by Lancet Infectious Diseases in 2011, concluded that overall “…existing flu vaccines can provide moderate protection from laboratory-confirmed flu, but protection is much lower in some groups and during some seasons.” According to a 2008 report based on Institute of Environmental Science and Research Ltd. (ESR) surveillance data, influenza-related deaths in New Zealand reduced by more than 70% since 1997 when the vaccination policy changed to offer free flu vaccination for people 65 years and over, resulting in a steady increase of vaccine uptake.

    Does being fit and healthy protect you from influenza?

    Anyone can catch and spread, influenza. Being young, fit and healthy does not protect you from influenza. Immunisation offers the best protection from infection and reduces the spread of the virus to more vulnerable people.

    Can I build up natural immunity to influenza?

    Immunity only develops after you have been exposed to a particular strain of the virus, either through infection or immunisation. Flu immunisation prepares and boosts your immune system to help you fight the particular flu viruses expected to be circulating each year. Immunity against one strain of flu will not necessarily protect you against another.

    You cannot catch influenza from the vaccine

    The current influenza vaccines available in New Zealand do not contain live virus. These vaccines contain fragments of inactivated influenza viruses and cannot cause disease. It can take up to two weeks to be fully protected following vaccination. If you are exposed to influenza virus near the time you are vaccinated, the vaccine may not have time to work before you become unwell.

Informed to sign a waiver if we decline the vaccine

I work in  mental health and addiction.. We were never told about a date we would be vaccinated. Our CE sends an e mail 17/03/21 and says we are up for vaccination in 4 days. Talk about being blindsided. The e mail also read are you accepting or declining. There were many of my work colleagues from different services we operate who declined. Due to many declining our CE sends a waiver for us to sign. Some of the waiver was fair enough. Protecting the interests of our organization. If we were exposed to covid 19. We agree not to hold our organization liable etc. The part of the waiver I did not like was if we sign the waiver. If those who decline the vaccine and put anyone at risk of covid 19. Our organization were able to alter our contract (my union said not to sign due to them able to alter me straight out of my job), stand us down without pay, remove us and put us in a area of our workplace where we do not put anyone at risk, unable to participate in organizational activities. Due to the waiver. Many of my work colleagues accepted the vaccine due to stress relating to worried about losing their jobs by altering their contracts, stood down without pay etc. So far work colleagues vaccine on 17/03/21 have had there second pfizer jab. Those who missed the 17/03/21 were vaccinated on the 12/04/21 and waiting for the second jab next week sometime. I am assistant manager and one of the only managers who have yet to take the vaccine. Three times now I have avoided the vaccine and will find a reason to avoid it a fourth time. Thanks team for what you are doing but I am unsure how long I can keep avoiding this experimental vaccine. I do not want to leave the job I love so much. But due to the waiver. I feel this is a mechanism to oust me out. Very stressful time!

I was asked to take the Covid vaccine at work (administrator in aged care facility) to protect our vulnerable residents. I said no I don’t take vaccines especially experimental vaccines, but would look after my own health by healthy living.

I told my manager I would leave rather than be forced to take this vaccine

I was asked not to talk to other staff about my views which I agreed to.

I had already posted a helpline number on Facebook for nurses and caregivers who had questions and may not want to take this experimental vaccine, so I was reasonably comfortable that I had helped in this way.

However I should be free to share my views to help others not muzzled.

Last week my employer (I work in a luxury aged care facility) threatened to have the nursing council revoke my ability
to practice as an RN (via a disciplinary hearing) and they also threatened to fire me … all because I tried to warn one of our
young cleaning ladies to NOT get the jab.  She is a new mom and breast feeding … can you imagine how insane
this is?  They called me into an “urgent” meeting where it was written In the meeting “invitation” that the outcome
would be one of the two (disciplinary hearing and /or get fired).  Fortunately, I was able to contact a fantastic lawyer who came in as my “support” person.  Bottom line is that this amazing lady
absolutely demolished my pathetic petty tyrant of a boss, who just sat there like a stunned fool.  The saga is far from over
but so far I still have my licence and my job …  the FIGHT is worth every damn inch of effort.  I’m 65 and don’t care what happens to me … I will go out FIGHTING with everything I have and I will continue to warn everyone I can about this jab. We win or we die.

Shut up – or else! Doctor warned to keep quiet or face disciplinary action.

I have been following the whole COVID debacle closely and once I had recovered from my initial fear that we all experienced from seeing those terrible scenes in Wuhan and the fatality rate declared itself to be similar to the ‘flu (and even less dangerous to children than the ‘flu), it rapidly dawned on me that there was a wider, more sinister agenda behind this takedown of society as we knew it.

I began to research the science behind COVID and read the Pfizer and Moderna ‘vaccine’ data very thoroughly. I discovered that the efficacy data was actually extremely shaky for both medications – only a 0.7% absolute risk reduction for developing symptomatic COVID in the Pfizer vaccine group compared to the control group. The 95% risk reduction proclaimed as a great victory is a relative risk reduction compared to the already tiny risk experienced by the control group (who didn’t take the injection)  – it’s very misleading.

To explain that just a tiny bit, say your chance of winning lotto was one in a million and I came along and said, ‘Hey hey, I can improve your chances of winning by 100%.’ You’d think that was pretty good, eh? But actually, when you discovered that I’d increased your chances to two in a million ( an increase of 100%), you’d be less impressed. Your relative ‘risk’ of winning lotto increased by 100%, but your ABSOLUTE risk only increased by 1 in a million, or 0.000001%. Less than impressive!! The data on the Pfizer is a bit like that. Less than impressive 🙁 But to hear the government spout on about it, you’d think it was miracle dust!

I also discovered that there had been no testing of whether the medication stopped you getting COVID or passing it on (transmission). No testing! AND that the clinical trials were only months old, rather than the many (at least 5-10) years of trials required for other vaccines. Nobody knows the medium to long term effects of these things because not enough time has passed. Nobody is qualified to tell you that ‘They are safe.’ They don’t know.

Many deaths and adverse reactions have been reported worldwide already. Over 3000. Deaths. That sounds like quite a side effect to me.

So when asked for my opinion on the Pfizer shot by my colleagues, I gave my appraisal based on all the research I had been doing. ‘At the end of the day, it’s your choice,’ I told them. ‘But go do your own reading. Make a risk:benefit assessment for yourself.’ Older people with many other health problems, for example, might be willing to take the risk of an experimental medicine, rather than a young nurse with almost zero risk if serious harm from COVID.

Some of my nursing colleagues, clerical staff and other non-medical staff had already done a lot of background research and many were frightened to take the jab, despite the threat of potential job loss if they didn’t. NONE, I repeat, NONE of my doctor colleagues were even the slightest bit concerned. They got the Pfizer the second they could stick their arm out. No question. It was something you did ‘for the team, to keep everyone safe’, despite the fact that no definitive data on transmission is available. Despite the abysmal data on any risk reduction, and totally disregarding the tiny risk of serious harm from COVID to the vast majority of people.

Then recently, I got called into the office by my boss for a warning – someone had ‘informed’ my managers that I was an ‘anti-vaxxer’ (not true) and was spreading ‘falsehoods’ (I just wanna vomit when I hear that word) about the ‘vax.

‘If you do that, people won’t get it and we’ll have to redeploy them’, he said, shaking his head. ‘And there’s nowhere to redeploy them to. If YOU don’t get it, you’ll have to wear full PPE at work and you won’t be able to share communal spaces – to protect your team mates and the patients from the risk you pose to them. Then, we’ll have to put you somewhere else. I don’t know where yet.’

I felt physically sick as he went on to explain, ‘If you say one more word, ONE more word about the vax, you will face formal action against you by the DHB. You could lose your job.’

Meanwhile, my colleagues openly  slander anyone with any doubts about the safety and efficacy of the Pfizer injection. They are all ‘conspiracy theorists, anti-vaxxers, hippies – or just plain dumb’. I have to remain silent during these ‘discussions’, because my job is at stake. No debate tolerated, because only one side of the story – the government’s one – can be true. I feel choked with anger at these times, because I used to believe that we lived in a democracy (not so) where open discussion was allowed. No longer. The illusion of democracy is no longer maintained, revealing the ugly face of totalitarianism and control.

We have had multiple patients at the hospital with health problems immediately post injection. Chest pain, facial swelling, vision loss and severe sepsis. No link between these acute problems and the vax is allowed. ‘It is 100% safe,’ I’ve heard a colleague say. ‘It basically doesn’t do anything to the body, so how could it cause any harm?’ Any suggestion that the timing of the medication pre-illness could be linked is frowned upon as ‘quackery’. I despair.

The medical council sent a letter out yesterday to all doctors telling them that they are expected to take the injection as a professional requirement, as the best way to stop COVID rampaging through NZ (despite the awkward fact that they don’t yet know if it stops you getting or giving the virus, nor how long any ‘immunity’ might last).

I see it as the precursor to mandatory vax: no injection, no medical registration. Just watch. I’m sure it’s going to happen.

I’ve been assured that if I shut up, I won’t lose my job. But looking at the poor Border Workers and the new, bizarrely harsh legislation now cemented into law about mandatory vax or dismissal – no jab, no job – the writing is on the wall for both me and my non doctor co-workers who are unwilling to risk all to take an experimental medication for a disease that poses minimal risk to most people.

Me and my family are brainstorming as to how the heck we’re going to manage without an income. My career of twenty years, my vocation – gone in the squirt of a syringe (or the refusal of one).

As a doctor, I took an oath to protect my patients, to always do my best for them, and to ‘first, do no harm.’ I believe this vax rollout has the potential to do tremendous harm, and I can’t go along with it.

I’m fearful for what lies ahead, but I cannot look back on this time and know I colluded with this mass experiment on a trusting public. How long can I stay silent to keep my job? I’m not sure.

I urge you to go do your own research. Chat with your family. Most doctors’ knowledge of this experimental medicine is limited to the ministry of health website info. Few doctors seem to have done any extra digging into the topic. No, you need to better than this. You need to make a more informed decision, and the only person to make that decision is you.

I wish you, reading this, all the very best. As the ‘vax passport inevitably gets brought in (a microbiologist friend of mine told me the government was proposing plans for our version of it, something called the ‘Common Pass’ even as early as lockdown 2020, something I find chilling), we will all have to decide – my job or the jab. My silence or my bravery to speak up. My submission to the government plans, or my exclusion from society as a new under-class of intelligent being who refuses this injection.

I can’t believe it’s happening, but it is. It really is.

Whatever your views are, we should all defend our rights as New Zealanders to be able to express them. Otherwise, our inevitable fate is to be silenced forever by this emerging tyranny. Overly dramatic? Alas, I don’t think so – but it’s up to you to decide.

A grave new threat

A decree was made two days ago, to take effect from tomorrow night. Broadly, it sets up a set of sanctions to affect those who resist vaccination in particular workplaces. There is a context, to which I wish to draw attention. Regardless of the history of this extraordinary dictate, its announcement took place after a phone conference with Ellis J. on 22 May, six days prior. In her minute of the same day, Ellis J. records that “Ms Grey helpfully agreed that only the first two orders (orders A and B) in the amended application would be pursued on an interim basis.”

The Court has, helpfully, been treating our claim as urgent, but, with this agreement, antecedent to the decree since promulgated, regarded that part of our claim which had to do with infringement by the Crown of the Bill of Rights Act as of lesser urgency. By issuing this decree, the Crown has put a match to the issue of the lawfulness of the decree, and others like it of which we complain in respect of the Bill of Rights. Simply put, this matter has become, by virtue of the Crown’s intervention,  supremely urgent, and ought now, in my view, be given priority for consideration by the Court.

Sue manages not to run out of superlatives when it comes to the grossness of the Crown’s actions. Peter Williams gets the point. This is an exceedingly dangerous time for our democracy. The issue is not one of public health. It is one of resistance to tyranny.

I would like to anonymously, for now, add my voice to a larger voice regarding my concern around medical confidentiality within the DHB. I”m a physician with 30 years of experience, a psychiatrist working in a South Island DHB for the past three and half years after immigrating to NZ.
   I am writing concerned about my own and others’ health information privacy in my workplace.
1. Almost daily I am asked, as I overhear others being asked, in shared work areas about when I am getting or got the “vaccine”. I have simply been responding “not yet” as any other response appears to raise eyebrows.
2. Yesterday I was in my office’s admin area and noticed an entire sheet of laminated “vaccine cards” which I photographed front and back for my own personal documentation. Our chief admin helper had sent an email to the entire office offering lamination of vaccine cards.I mentioned to the admin upon seeing the laminated cards that probably this shouldn’t be here as this is people’s confidential medical information and would she put it someplace out of plain sight so all wandering through the area wouldn’t be noticing it, please? In response, she sequestered the laminated cards and then asked me if I had my own card as it was not on the laminated sheet.
3. Availability of vaccines was announced in our morning meeting a few weeks ago. It was not announced that the vaccine was not mandatory and confidentiality and privacy would be maintained and supported in the workplace around anyone’s medical care. A colleague did mention soto voce after the morning meeting announcement that the vaccine was not mandatory and no further discussion occurred but I was left with the distinct impression I was not the only person wary of this. Later in the day a nurse mentioned she didn’t know anyone who’d had the vaccine and was anxious about getting it. Privacy around the vaccine is floridly missing in our office — see #!.
4. Many persons in my office of 35 people have had to leave work due to side effects of the vaccine and it seems almost all of them have publicly recited their unpleasant side effects to the vaccine that interfere with their usual top functioning but perhaps don’t reach the level of disabling them from working. I mention this only because it is not reasonable to expect persons who chose to be vaccinated to be censured regarding talking about support for their side effects but it is unreasonable for persons to expect others to be sharing their vaccination status in response to direct inquiries when this is brought up. Also– I ask myself why aren’t people directed to discuss their side effects with appropriate medical personnel for tracking as the symptoms are hardly subtle and do interfere with top performance enough to be complained about.
5. There appears to be only one correct answer to the question about the vaccine in the workplace which is being asked and that is Yes, I’ve had it and/ or my appointment for the vaccine is on…
6. I have a casual group composed of many physicians and allied health professionals who I spend time with on a regular basis. When the topic of The Vaccine comes up there is a strong attitude expressed that anyone who is not vaccinated is in effect choosing to spread COVID 19 to others and even cause death. I am not exagerrating.The data is clear and loud that vaccination does not by any scientific evidence stop the spread of COVID.   I am being exposed to health professionals promulgating misinformation with an attitude of ire towards the population who is delaying or not intending to get the vaccine.

NZ Government’s Vaccine Rollout Under Threat as High Court Challenge Filed

The Pfizer Comirnaty vaccine rollout is under threat as the legality of the vaccine approval and many of the Government’s claims are being challenged in the High Court.  The plaintiff claims that the people of New Zealand are not being given honest and complete information about the legal status of the vaccine or the major gaps in safety testing.

The misleading media campaign and use of a squad of vaccinators who have just two hours online training undermines the patient practitioner relationship and the requirement for informed consent so people can make an informed choice around the safety and efficacy of the vaccination.

Nga Kaitiaki Tuku Ihu Inc. filed the proceedings last week in the Wellington High Court and Crown Law is now racing to find a way to defend the claims which include questions around the lawfulness of the approval process.   The defendants are: Minister of Health, Director General of Health,  Christopher James, The Prime Minister,  Minister of Covid response and the Attorney general.

The proceedings are supported by doctors, academics and experts in their field who are unhappy about the claims of safety and effectiveness undermining the ability of patients to give informed consent. as is the lack of alternative health strategies.

Council for the applicant, Nelson based lawyer, Sue Grey said that “the current situation undermines the rule of law and the integrity of the medicines regime.”
